This year’s Arts and Christian Enquiry (ACE) and RIBA Award for Religious Architecture shortlist has been revealed today and the practice’s Hall of Remembrance has made the shortlist of 5 projects. The above image of the building completed earlier in the year, is currently featured in The Architect’s Journal write up of the design prize which exists to ‘celebrate the successes and diversity of architectural and artistic projects in religious buildings’. The results of judging will be announced at the award ceremony taking place in mid November.

The Edible Bus Stop is an organic community garden founded by local residents on an unfenced, open strip of land, which sits beside the #322 Lambeth Hospital (towards Brixton) bus stop on Landor Road, London SW9. As residents of this community, the partners at Methodic Practice are actively supporting efforts to transform this neglected public through-fare into a haven for urban landscape design and horticulture.

Architect in the House is an innovative scheme run by Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity, and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). We match homeowners with a local RIBA chartered architect who gives up an hour of their time for a design consultation. In exchange, the homeowner makes a suggested donation of £40 to Shelter. In 2011 the TV channel Home is title sponsor of the scheme, and Rockwool is associate sponsor.
